Description

The MM-5410D is a 32-bit/33MHz PCI DRAM memory buffer capable of burst mode accesses at the full bandwidth of 32-bit/33Mhz PCI with transfer rates of up to 132MB/s.

The MM-5410D is commonly used as a high speed buffer for data intensive image and vision applications. It optimizes frame grabber performance and can also dramatically increase overall performance by acting as a temporary buffer in internet servers, RAIDs, and wireless communications. In many PCI applications, the maximum speeds on the memory read cycles can only be achieved by using Push/Push technology. This is accomplished with our on-board DMA initiator. Various drivers are included (Windows NT, VxWorks, QNX) so that it can also be used as a high speed RamDisk.

Due to the PCI bios, memory reads can tend to be significantly slower than writes in certain applications. The MM-5410D overcomes this obstacle because it is capable of being both a target PCI memory and a PCI DMA initiator. This feature allows you to set the DMA so the card will perform writes instead of reads to maximize throughput. The configuration space header of the MM-5410D returns a class code of 05h, indicating that it is a memory controller, and a sub-class code of 00h, indicating that it is a RAM module.

Reliability is ensured by burn-in and running memory diagnostics that check operations for 48 hours while temperature-cycling boards from 0° to 60°C. Reliability is also backed up by Micro Memory's Lifetime Warranty.
